It’s that time of year again in Michigan when the sky is filled with brilliance. Thunderous booms can be heard throughout the night as they mix with the squeals and laughter of children. Usually the Detroit River is SO crowded with thousands of people that we go onto the Canadian side.

The view is absolutely gorgeous and we are able to sit right along the riverwalk without the loudness, the massive forced bonding with those next to you and enjoy the night stress free.
There are vendors along the way and the atmosphere is just radically different.

This year’s 49th fireworks event, also called the International Freedom Festival, is sponsored by Target. Next year, my husband Rel and I are considering renting a hotel room so the family can watch the fireworks from high above the river.

I wanted you to be able to enjoy some of the magic of this celebration so here are a few links and galleries you might enjoy looking at.

Have a great 4th of July celebration to those in the United States!
