ImageFor the past few months, my posts have been rather sporadic as I have been learning new things and healing  at the same time (inside and out).

There are few things in life that can give you clearer vision quicker than the  " opportunities" of daily living.

For instance, when we are in pain, we appreciate the ease with which we have moved through our lives; when someone precious has left our lives, we can more deeply feel the influence they had on our decisions. It’s amazing how much life can condition us to take things for granted.

ImageMost of my life has been spent around different breeds of dogs as my dad was a dog loving fanatic of the best kind.

He absolutely adored training them so as kids, there was always a few pets. Cats?? My brave father was terrified of them since one got stuck to his shirt as a kid and clung tighter as he ran.

TK was supposed to be a present for my older son but she clings to me. At night she turns into a lion stalking me (her loyal caregiver and sanitation official) through the darkness, for she knows that I am more afraid of her in the dark. She’s a toe raider and no matter how hard I try, I can’t hold back the screams she delights in.

ImageGetting used to a cat in the home is a lot like adjustments you have to make in life. I have found creative ways to get more work down and write posts while my lap is my own (during her naps).Image

I have learned to laugh at myself and at life more which means I don’t take things so seriously all the time.  That definitely makes for a less stress free environment. She’s my comic relief and apparently I am hers too. Which brings me to why I said "the cat did it."

In true law of attraction form, I was feeling so guilty because I forgot to put the railing up on my son’s loft bed. He’s used to leaning against it and I heard the heavy thud as he fell out around 4am, instantly knowing what I forgot to do. He bugged me about it all the next day. Not a good mom moment.

Later during the day, I was bending down hunched on my heels adjusting a night light. Standing up, I felt something under my foot and realized the cat was right behind me. As I reacted and lifted my foot in the air fighting for balance, she took off at the same time in the opposite direction. We probably looked pretty silly and could have won the funniest video money if someone was around to tape it. There’ll be no re-enactments though.Image

Twisting so I wouldn’t fall on her, and trying to hold myself in the air to give her time to move completely, I sprained my ankle and fell flat out on my back re-injuring an old complaint.  At the time, I lay there thinking about letting her run free into the corn field and saying, "What, we had a cat?!" when anyone asked for her.  Auctioning her off on ebay was another idea but shipping would be a problem.

Maybe I could  leave her on a doorstep with a "be nice to my kitty" note but that would mean I had to get up, a task that seemed to take longer now than it did  about twenty or thirty years ago. My bones must have aged while I wasn’t paying attention because I certainly wasn’t  "old", no matter how many famous people, friends or events I mention that my kids never heard of.  I won’t ven discuss the dated episode of "Columbo" when my kids saw the old rotary phones for the first time. (Yikes!)

Laying there I thought of a lot of things. Most of all, I thought about the situations we really do create in life,  good and not so pleasant.  If I indeed manifested this into my life, and I have no doubts that I created it first mentally from my guilt, what else was I bringing about unconsciously?

What about you? What are you manifesting for yourself today?

There were a lot of things I could have done or said to Takira (TK), but in the end … I decided to just say "Thank you."
