I love learning about new technology! Recently I was reading something on voicemail that I thought I’d share with you today. Many, many people dislike having to check their voicemails throughout the day. I’m certainly guilty of feeling that way. Perhaps you’re like that too.

Why? It just takes so much time going through all the options, one by one, delete, listen, and repeat. Ugh!

Well, now there’s a way to have your voicemail delivered to you through your telephone’s text capabilities.

Apparently, a company called SimulScribe will convert voicemail to text and then process it for delivery using SMS or email. The messages arrive in just about real time and provide the sender’s phone information, text of the message and a .wav file as an attachment.

Among the many sweet features are unlimited voicemail storing, an online interface to log into, on-the-fly manageability and a reasonable monthly fee of $9.95 (at time of this writing) which covers your first 40 transcriptions with additional messages costing .25 for the duration of the month.

The Top Seven Mistakes eBook Authors Make

By Jim Edwards and David Garfinkel

eBooks are the hottest thing going on the Web right now! Authors with the entrepreneurial instinct are making anywhere from a few hundred to tens of thousands of dollars per month - that’s right, per month - by selling ebooks online.

Why are some authors doing so much better than others? We’ve discovered seven key mistakes that most ebook authors make (and in doing so, hold themselves back from major success):

    1. They don’t write to a specific, target audience?

The biggest mistake most ebook authors make is they don’t clearly define, identify and visualize who they are selling their ebook to.

On the Web, to be successful, you must write to a specific group of people who have specific interests?
Make sure that you know exactly who is going to buy your ebook, and where you can find them online?

    2. They don’t automate as many of their business activities as possible?

Selling ebooks, though it is highly profitable, is not a business where you make hundreds of dollars per sale.

Automate everything you can - credit card processing, ebook delivery, as much technical support as possible. If you can’t automate a function, delegate it to someone else?

    3. They don’t have a compelling title for their ebook.

Use words that convey the benefit of what’s in the ebook, as well as words your audience is familiar with.
A bad title for an ebook: “Online Marketing for Newbies.”? A good title for the same ebook: “97 Ways to Promote Your Website - No Experience Required.”

    4. They try to cover too much ground.

Many ebook authors convey a lot of information but don’t cover anything in-depth. As a result, they never fully explain anything in enough detail to provide any useful value to their readers.

This is a very bad mistake to make, especially when it comes to how-to ebooks, which happen to be the best type to write.

    5. They are not proactive in their marketing.

It would be nice if marketing for your ebook simply happened on its own - but it doesn’t. You have to do it yourself.

After you’ve promoted your ebook to the people on your own mailing list (if you have one), then you have to contact other Website owners and persuade them to be your affiliates. You should do this continually.

    6. They don’t differentiate their ebook from its competitors.

When you choose your topic, even if there are a hundred ther ebooks out there on same general subject, choose an ngle for yours that will make it easy for yours to be distinguished from the others.

For example, right now job-hunting ebooks are very popular. There are dozens that are big sellers. “Secrets of Breaking nto Pharmaceutical Sales” has a very specific title that sets it apart from the competition, and is aimed at a clearly identified target audience. Incidentally, it’s selling very well itself.

    7. They write ebooks that nobody will pay for.

Many ebook authors write about information that either people can get for free, or that people are not actually
interested in enough to pay for the information. Before you invest weeks or months into the writing of your ebook, invest a little time investigating whether other ebooks in the same subject area are selling on the Web.

So, there you have it - the seven big mistakes to avoid. Remember, the opportunities are plentiful - and huge - right now for anyone who wants to become a best-selling ebook author. Simply use common sense, follow our advice, and let your literary career flourish!

Since instigating proper SEO techniques I have seen my web site visitors increase by over 1500%. My conversion rates have also gone from a meager 0.5% to a very healthy 8%.

How has this been achieved? By following seven simple guidelines which have not only seen my visitor figures sky rocket but also the web sites position in the major search engines has gradually improved until it sits on page one for all the important search categories and many surprising ones also.

So what are these seven basic rules I have followed?

      1. Develop as many pages as is possible all with good and different content on. The content should be different but obviously related. The content should be written for the visitor not for the search engines. It has to be good sales copy because you are trying to sell a product or a service virtually in an instant so it must grab the attention of the visitor.

      2. Develop reciprocal links with related sites. They can be in exactly the same field as you if you are providing a service so long as they are situated away from your area and not directly in competition with you.

Do not worry about the page rank of these sites as it is more important that they are relevant to yours service. If you have products which are sold worldwide then it is not quite so simple and you will have to link with sites that have some relevance but not a direct one, otherwise you would be linking with your competitors.

      3. Place your link in as many directories as is possible. Most are free and do not require a link back but even if they do it is of no consequence.

Do it. Some may require a small fee. It is entirely up to you whether you are prepared to pay this fee. Be careful however because you could end up paying out large sums in total if you do not keep a careful check on the monies paid out. Be selective.

      4. Do not direct all your links back to the homepage. Spread the links around the relevant pages.

      5. Write articles and submit them to the article distributors. This will give you an ever increasing number of backlinks to your website as the articles get picked up and published on weblogs, websites and ezines. You could find a good article ending up in some very surprising places.

      6. Develop a weblog alongside and as part of your website. If this is updated daily then you will ensure that the search engines regularly visit your site and pick up all the updates.

      7. Add additional content to your website at least once per week. Do not allow any of your web pages to remain static for any length of time. Even minor changes are good.

All of these things enacted together should see your site climbing through the rankings.

As the site progresses towards the first page you will see an ever increasing number of visitors arriving at your site.

How many of those are converted into customers depends entirely upon the strength of the copy on the pages and whether it is enticing people to become your customers.

It is utterly pointless having many hundreds of visitors to your site if they all depart without interacting in some way with your content.

Hello to all my friends on the road to financial freedom, improved health, and achieving outstanding success in life! Hope everyone had a peaceful day today and added some universal value to the space you are in.

Wow! It’s been different seeing my online journey unfold through the eyes of others. I appreciate all the comments and people who have joined my community so far and would love for others to join, exchange links etc.

I’ve got a few experiments to increase traffic that I’ll be posting from time to time and sharing the results for what worked and what didn’t.

Argggh, Joomla is turning out to have a big learning curve for me but I’m getting there. Today, my challenge is to get the sign up forms working… again! For some reason they keep shutting down so bear with me guys.

I’ve just installed another email form called Feed Your List by Ross "The Boss" Carrel so we’ll see how that works once it’s completely set up.

Current traffic generation strategy for today: Visiting and signing up with other bloglog communities, learning how to tag properly with the help of the good folk at http://mybloglogb.typepad.com, responding to new community member signups here and experimenting with viral marketing.

          "It’s All About The Balance"

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." ~ Alan Cohen

Change Your Focus, Change Your Life - 8 Steps To Get You Started

What’s been on Your mind lately?

No, really. What have you been thinking about? Stop for a minute and examine the last two or three weeks of your life. Consider how you spent your think time last week, or perhaps even earlier today.

Has any of the stuff you thought about, or tried to avoid, shown up for you in your life? Thoughts are things I consider to be bits of fluid energy, transferred endlessly across the universe from one receptive mind to another.

I for one truly believe that what you think about, you ultimately bring about even if it’s not to your benefit. That’s probably why I have long been a student of the laws of the universe. I love reading positive affirmations and used to subscribe to W.Clement Stone’s "Success" magazine for years.

You’ll find many of my all time favorite "written mentors" listed in the Success Resource here. Don’t believe thoughts are things? Consider this simplified example: How many people do you know, including possibly yourself, who keep attracting the wrong, absolutely, positively wrong man, woman, relationship or situations into their lives? What type of energy is being put out?

It’s the same way with success, wealth, bills and any number of things we face in our daily lives.

If constantly worrying and stressing over how to pay the bills, what aches and pains you have, when the sky will be falling and all the other things a stressed out mind can cook up, guess what we’re more likely to attract? Absolutely…more of the same! Stop the Madness! Quit worrying about what could negatively happen. Switch those thoughts around with these quick tips and motivators:

Monitor your thoughts for a bit and mentally zap anything negative that tries to hide in them in your best Battlestar Galactica imitation.

          • Something as simple as reading a good book, or listening to soothing tapes can make a dramatic difference. Can’t think of anything soothing? Here are a few you might like to try. Let me know what you think of them.

          • Create a "dreams" list of some of the good things you want to attract into your life, complete with photos.

          • Begin to think about all the things you are thankful for in life. Acknowledge them.

          • Make a commitment to yourself to improve the quality of your thoughts, actions and your words in your interactions with others, and how you "mentally talk" to yourself.

          • Celebrate yourself for every success you have. When you achieve one of your goals, list in in your success journal and begin immediately striving to achieve another one.

Do You Have Everything Your Want?? If not, there is a way you can get it with no tricks, gimmicks or wild goose chases. Nothing but solid facts about the steps you need to take to finally get what you want, anytime you want it, and in just the way you want to get it.

Scientists have proven over and over that universal laws work each and every time. For example, the Law of Gravity works every single time. You drop a brick. It hits the ground very quickly. (Watch out for your toes when you do this!)

It doesn’t matter if you believe in the Law of Gravity, it still applies to you. Just like there’s a Law of Gravity, there’s a Law that determines what you get in life. That Law has been working for - or against - you since you were born.

You may not have known about the law. Might not have paid attention to it. Might not care about it. Might not even believe it’s true. But this Law applies to you anyway.

If you’re not getting everything you want out of life, then the Law is definitely working… it’s just not working to your benefit.

If that’s the case, then I urge you to to this site ASAP so you can find out how make this Law work for you. It’s way past time for you toget everything you want!
